Currently my husband and I are working on raising our 2 awesome children. Fortunately, I have been blessed to have found my soul mate in life in which I have been married to for 10 years. As I mentioned we have 2 kids together, 1 boy and lucky enough, 1 girl! Our son is 5 years old, his name is Dylan and our daughter is 10 months old, her name is Brooke. I love everything that comes with being a mother especially getting to see and be a part of all the new things they are constantly learning, even though sometimes it can be a very stressful job.
I am always so busy doing something, having to run here and take Dylan there and so on and so forth. Our son plays soccer, he swims, and he goes to an after school program every day after school. I keep Dylan so busy because he always has so much extra energy, even at the end of the day. My daughter has just learned to walk and is now all over the place, she is always trying to get into everything she shouldn't be. I am currently going to school for my web development certificate and I also work part-time as an SEO, optimizing websites which is the other side of web development. So now you have a better idea of how busy and crazy my life can get sometimes.
I am who I am today because of all the good and bad experiences I have been through and learned from. It all started by me being raised by my mom and step dad from the time I was 4 until I was 14. We never got along very well so I ended up moving out at 14 years old into my best-friends house. I went through a lot in the next few years. Sometime between dropping out of high school and experimenting with drugs and alcohol my Aunt and Uncle saw something in me that no one else did then.
They welcomed me into their home and treated me as if I was their own. They helped me to get away from drugs and learn to stay away from drugs. They also got me back into high school as soon as possible. I went to night classes at Palomar as well as attended high school so I could make up all the credits I had missed along the way. Going back to school was very difficult for me, but I finally succeeded in graduating high school. Amazingly enough I even graduated 3 months earlier than I was supposed to originally, if I had never dropped out of school.
Once high school was over I wanted to be free from the rules and the structure my Aunt and Uncle had for me. I thought I knew it all then. Boy did I learn my lesson. Once I moved out of their house I realized how hard life really was as an adult. So I found a job part-time and went back to school part-time as well. By this time in my life I had explored many different career paths along the way and always ended up undecided.
I started working with my mom recently, which has been good because she is an SEO and I have learned web site optimization. That is how I discovered web development. We had a conversation one day regarding the amount of women in the web development industry and she was telling me there are not a lot of women in this field and there is a high demand in web development as well. So I have started taking these web development classes because I think I have found my calling in life finally. So now you know where I have come from and what has helped make me who I am today. Thanks for listening to my story.
